Rangers have stopped snap checking, raids and started retreating security in the city.
“How could you expect from paramilitary personnel to maintain peace and security without powers,” he said.
He has expressed reservation over creating hurdles to achieve political goals in the way of Rangers’ performing responsibilities.
Sources said the interior minister had also consulted the DG Rangers over phone.
“Rangers presence in the city will be ensured in the benefit of masses and they would be given legal protection. Hopefully, the provincial government will perform its responsibility,” Nisar said.
Earlier, Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in a meeting directed the chief minister Sindh to resolve the issue of Rangers powers as per the requirement of the constitution, sources said.
